La Couarde sur Mer
Campsite near La Couarde sur Mer
When camping on theIle de Ré, all roads lead to La Couarde-sur-Mer! Situated in the heart of the Ile de Ré, this small village will seduce you with its calm and authenticity, whether you're a fan of idleness, hiking or water sports.

A small village in the Retais as we like it
Just 10 km from our 5-star Le Cormoran campsite, La Couarde is a typical Ile de Ré village. In summer, the village center comes alive around the bandstand, where couardais and vacationers gather in a festive, friendly atmosphere. Not to mention the daily market from mid-June to mid-September.
If you're curious, look out for the many sundials adorning the facades or low walls of old houses. It's a great way to lose yourself in the maze of alleys lined with white houses with green shutters, and in the secrecy of alleys decorated with hollyhocks. Further on, in the Goisil channel (named after the nearby salt marsh), you'll discover a picturesque little port, the starting point for a pretty, bucolic stroll towards the Breton inlet.

Water sports in La Couarde
The Ile de Ré is a favorite destination for water sports enthusiasts, and La Couarde-sur-Mer is no exception.
You can enroll your children in a sailing course organized by the Centre Nautique Couardais du Goisil (CNCG), one of the four French sailing schools on the Ile de Ré.
In summer, the team even offers free catamaran, dinghy and optimist baptisms for children and teenagers. Don't miss out!
Beaches and water sports
The Peu Ragot beach is home to the École de Voile de La Couarde "Les Dauphins", run by Antoine Albeau, 25 times world windsurfing champion. There's no doubt you're in the right place to perfect your windsurfing, wakeboarding, water-skiing or even take a ride on a towed buoy.
Based on the Prises beach, the "Île de Ré Voile" sailing school, accessible via the Ars road, also organizes catamaran, funboard, paddle and kayak courses.
At the Boutillon beach, at the western end of La Couarde and in the direction of Ars-en-Ré, two schools offer kitesurfing lessons (Philovent and Révasion).
Finally, if you'd like to discover the joys of paddleboarding on the Ile de Ré, the campsite recommends the "Sup Evasion" stand-up paddle school on the Plage des Prises. On the program: junior courses, discovery sessions, private lessons... As for surfing enthusiasts, they'll prefer La Pergola beach, at the southern end of La Couarde.
La Couarde sur Mer is just 10 km from the campsite, ideal for walks, lazing around or water sports.
